Who is Xi Lan?

Xi is a dark girl who doesn't like to be happy. She was sent away by her parents to attend TQ Academy for a year while they worked out marital problems. She thus resents both them and herself, and feels that she is an unworthy person to enjoy happiness. This is partially because of the destruction of her home planet in Thread 2. After she believed everyone dear to her was lost, she gave up. She doesn't like to socialize and tries to avoid human contact whenever possible. People who try to cheer her up often find themselves seriously regretting it afterward. Yet despite her hatred towards overly-peppy people, she can't get enough of Morgan O'Claire, whom Xi finds herself quite attached to despite Morgan's happy attitude towards life. Xi is reluctant to accept help from anyone, and when happiness reaches her she's tentative and often pessimistic about accepting it. Deep in her heart, however, she just longs to be loved and appreciated for who she is, and she doesn't understand why people have trouble getting through her hard, spiked outside nature even though she created that image for the sole reason that no one would be able to reach her.
